Our Service Commitment to You
Pearson Jones’ service commitment to you is for the long-term and focuses entirely on maintaining and improving your net wealth. Our process involves arranging your money to maximise investment returns (within the risk tolerances we agree) and minimise the effects of all forms of taxation and charges. All this is delivered at an agreed price which is confirmed at the outset of the relationship.
We agree a financial plan for clients which we then deliver, review and monitor over time pro-actively. The plan confirms your objectives and how these will be achieved. We then arrange your investments in the best possible way to achieve your plan.
Finally, we agree a monitoring process with you which involves regular reviews. These are essential to ensure that your financial arrangements remain on track.
Every new client relationship starts with a complimentary, no-obligation consultation, with a highly experienced adviser to discuss your needs in detail and the benefits of choosing Pearson Jones. We always agree fees upfront to ensure complete transparency of the work we do on your behalf. Our buying power generally ensures that we can make investments for clients on much better terms than would otherwise be the case.
At or after this initial consultation, we hope that you will decide to appoint Pearson Jones as your financial partner.
To provide you with the very best advice, our advisers will need to have full information about your current financial situation and your future plans. We need this information to make sure your plans are achievable within your risk profile (see the following section). For some clients, it will be clear to our advisers that their resources are sufficient to cover their lifetime’s expenditure. In all cases, it is vital that investments are managed to deliver suitable investment returns whilst minimising the impact of tax and charges. For more information on this aspect, please refer to Step 3.
After the initial meeting, we will cover any or all of the following areas:
Your Issues Any specific issues you raise requiring attention. We will also look to tell you about matters we believe should be addressed.
Investment Review An objective assessment of your risk tolerance and 360 degree review of your investment portfolio.
Taxation Review Reviewing opportunities and threats created by the taxation rules.
Pensions Review Reviewing opportunities and threats created by the pension rules.
Insurance Review Providing a check of current levels of cover and policy wording.
Estate Planning Review Ensuring your estate planning and inheritance tax planning wishes are up to date and legally valid.
Family Review Discussing any financial issues affecting your family.
Professional Review Providing professional updates to your accountant, solicitors and other advisors.
Cash Review Reviewing your deposit interest rates and mortgage arrangements.
Financial Objectives Review Determine whether your future plans are achievable in your current financial situation and in the future.
Recommendations To identify and recommend specific solutions to your current needs or objectives, we will create a comprehensive written report for you to review following the meeting.
The Financial Services Authority does not regulate taxation and trust advice or legal advice.
Once you have had the opportunity to review the report, we recommend a further discussion to ensure everything is clear.
Upon reaching agreement on how we can move forward, we will act on any recommendations you wish to implement.
At this stage we will agree the performance you can expect from Pearson Jones and the objectives by which you will measure our success. We also establish a written agreement so that both parties are clear on how our relationship will work including the fees you will pay for our services and where cost savings or rebates on your behalf can be achieved.
As your partner in building wealth and security, we focus on ways we can help you live the life you want to live. By engaging Pearson Jones you can be confident of regular financial reviews, check-ups and access to any developments which will be brought to you by our dedicated team via your individual adviser. This process takes into account the many changes to financial regulations and tax laws that recent governments seem keen to establish.
